Meet our Summer 2021 Interns!
My name is Adam Withington, and I’m a Pitt student originally from Springfield, Virginia. I’m currently finishing up my undergrad studies with majors in Environmental Science and Anthropology. For Summer 2021, I am the Water Quality Data Analyst Intern.
Bentic Sebastian is a Master's student in Information Technology at the University of North Carolina, Charlotte. He enjoys learning about data and how it can be used to serve the community. He works with the website and mobile apps being developed at Protect PT as a Computer Science Intern and is excited to be on the team. In his free time, he enjoys playing the piano and attending concerts.
My name is Bryony Tilzey and I am a Community Organizer intern for Protect PT. I am working towards a degree in Environmental Engineering at Indiana University of Pennsylvania. I invest every second I can outside, and although I spend most of my free time working and training horses, I also love camping, earthing, and soaking in the sun.

I am a 3rd year law student interning with Protect PT while simultaneously working with USW this summer. My legal interests are balancing union jobs with environmental protection; as a lifelong resident of the Mon Valley, I believe that it is critical that we meet the IPCC requirements, preserve Art. 1 sect. 27 of the PA Constitution, and maintain our union way of life.
Hello, my name is Kayla Shellenhamer, and I am currently a legal research and writing intern at Protect PT. I just finished my first year at Widener Commonwealth, where I am currently pursuing a Juris Doctorate with a certificate in Environmental Law. I am enthusiastic about the exceptional work Protect PT is doing for communities and the environment. I am thrilled to help them with their invaluable work and mission. In my free time, I enjoy hiking, reading, and hanging out with friends.
Hi, my name is Mary Grace Antonich. I am one of the Environmental Science interns and am really enjoying my time with Protect PT! While working at Protect PT, I am finishing my Master's Degree in Environmental Science at Duquesne. In the future, I hope to work in connecting scientific research with community engagement to motivate others in improving their health by improving the environment around them.
My name is Terese Mihalcin and I am the Digital Media intern for Protect PT over the summer. I grew up in Latrobe PA and chose to stay in the area for college at Seton Hill University. I am a Computer Science Major and I also play volleyball for the school. Additionally, I love doing all things outdoors such as hiking, skiing, swimming and biking.
