Pre-Hearing Resident Roundtable; Westmoreland Sanitary Landfill

The Westmoreland Sanitary Landfill in Rostraver Township, Westmoreland County (WSL) has plans to evaporate leachate that has been proven to be toxic and radioactive. This elimination process will emit these substances into the air for surrounding residents to breathe.

● The landfill has accepted oil & gas

waste for the last ten years causing

this contamination

● Chemicals found in the leachate are

known carcinogens that lead to

various types of cancer

● Children, the elderly and those with

pre-existing health conditions are

the most vulnerable to this pollution

● Evaporating this substance violates

your right to clean air and water as a

resident of Pennsylvania.
