About the Event
Protect your community from exposure to Air, Ground, Water and Noise Pollution from the first proposed Shale Gas Compressor Station in Penn Township by making a public comment! Learn the Impacts of the Compressor station and how to make a public comment at our public comment prep meeting. Join us on July 8th at 7 PM at the Protect PT office to go over topics discussed in each session of the recent Penn Township Zoning Hearing Board on Hyperion/Olympus’s Guardian Compressor Station and help community members in preparing to make public comment on July 11th.
Studies have shown people living around Compressor Stations tend to have higher rates of respiratory problems, and asthma especially in children, older adults and people with heart or lung disease. The compressor stations are often noisy enough to pose health risks, causing stress, sleep deprivation, and elevated blood pressure. We need your help to protect the health and safety of your community by offering public comment.
Public comment is an essential part of the hearing process, but we know it can be overwhelming for residents to prepare something if they have never done so before, or have not been able to attend the months of hearings so we are helping residents through the process of submitting their own comments through this meeting. In this session, Jim Cirilano, our Community Advocate, will go over each topic presented at the hearings and help residents start draft comments to present during the public comment period that'll happen after all parties are done presenting their cases.
