We have been very successful getting the word out about our petition, Say No To MEO and to date have over 250 signatures online and many more on paper. At our rally on April 13th, we handed out over 600 flyers to passing motorists and gained awareness for our campaign. We would like to thank Penn Township police for their support and ensuring or safety as we peacefully protested the Mineral Extraction Overlay. We still have petitions with our Protect PT members who are helping to canvass and gather additional signatures. All petitions are due Monday, May 9th so you still have time to download our paper petition and walk your neighborhood today gathering signatures! When petitions are ready to deliver, please email us to set up a time for us to pick them up, or they can be scanned and emailed but send us the original.
Call To Action for Clean Power
Earlier this month we told you about the educational workshop hosted by the Clean Air Council on Shale Gas and the Clean Power Plan. Those who attended learned how they can ask our state to do more to protect the people of Pennsylvania by implementing a transition to clean power. Please get involved! Download this letter or email the DEP Bureau of Air Quality. If you have questions, please email Eva Roben, Climate Change Outreach Coordinator at the Clean Air Council.
